Q: Will a 2000 Ford F-150 5.4 replace a 1999 Ford F-150 5.4 without any issues?
I would like to know if a 2000 Ford F-150 5.4 will replace a 1999 Ford F-150 5.4 without any issues? I have a 1999 F-150 with a blown 5.4 and found a 5.4 for sale from a 2000 F-150. I would like to know if I would have any issues putting that motor in my 99 with out wiring harness issues or computer issues. Any info regarding the swap would be greatly appreciated.
A: As long as you are doing a structure engine swap due to mechanical failure then yes. All the engine parts are the same, block, heads, manifolds etc. You could probably leave som of the sensors and what nots in considering they are both OBD II engines and most electrical ccomponents are the same.

A: Usually the dealers want these trucks off the lot as manuals don’t sell as hot as a automatic truck… Actually I find the milage high for a car dealer to have it (Most won’t keep over 75k miles)
Only problem the engine (It’s a 4.2 v-6) has is the upper o-rings for the intake leaking at close to 100k miles and basically casues a check engine light.
But from what I can tell, this appears to be a northern truck that was used year around and actually has average miles on it per year (12,500 miles average roughly)
Have a mechanic off site check it out for you, but I think you won’t have any problems with it other than normal concerns
Q: 1995 F-150 Selling question?
I have a 1995 F-150 Extended cab 4×4 short bed. I owe about $5,000 for it, and I am thinking about trying to sell it. It has 169,000 miles on it. I was going to put it up for sale for $6,000 and hope for the five thousand. Does anyone have any tips on selling it, or have an opinion on the price??? I am not trying to advertise on this site, but I do have a legitemate question on ways to sell. I have considered consignment, but would rather not do that unless I have to. I live in Idaho, so that shows you what the market is kind of. My truck is in good condition. It is pretty straight, and the paint looks good. It is an XLT and has power everything. It has the 5.8L engine. It runs pretty good, but every now and again it will cut out just for a second when you start it up.
Keeping all that in mind, do you think it is worth the $5,000? Or more importantly do you think I could get that out of it???
Anything helps. THANK YOU
Excellent $5,220
Good $4,750
Fair $4,105

I really only NEED the $5,000 for it. I guess, that’s what I’ll have to price it at. It is really in good condition.
A: Kelley Blue Book Expected Price:
Excellent: 3320
Good: 2935
Fair: 2450
In short, unless you find a sucker you probably won’t get 6000 for it.
Q: what is the value of my suzuki guitar s/n f-150?
its and old acustic and i dont know the age of it. it was my great Uncles and its not for sale.
A: maybe $50 tops, Suzuki isn’t a top guitarist company, so don’t expect a lot for it, even if its aged.
Q: maybe buying a 1994 f-150?
yea theres a truck that is for sale in my neighbor hood and its got alot of miles on it and it needs an oil pump its for sale for 500 but im thinking of seeing if they would take 300 for it what should i say when trying to talk them down because first time going trough this and im 18 lol
A: It really depends on what engine is in it.If it has the 300 I6,then 200,000 miles isn’t alot. The 300 I6 can go up to 300,000 miles easy.If it has a 302,then they usually last around 180,000.Ask the guy if any work has been done to the truck recently.Ask him if the engine or transmission has been rebuilt. You’re gonna have to pay to have the oil pump replaced, unless you do it yourself.I bought a 1980 F100 for 400 bucks, and it needs alot of work.So don’t expect the truck to be something you can jump on in and go.It sounds like it’s gonna need some work.If you’re not mechanically inclined,or if you don’t have alot of money,i’d pass it up.
Q: 98′ Ford F-150 4.6 pings in high rpm?
I changed the spark plugs, wires, run 93 oct. and still hear the ping? This usually happens when going up hill or pulling a load in high rpm. My mechanic did a compression test on cylinder 1 and said it was only at 30% and there was burned oil on the plug, but my brother (who is a mechanic) said that was not accurate unless he also performed a “leak down test”? Is that true? Or should I be thinking about a ring job soon? Let me also mention the same mechanic has a new 4.6 crate motor for sale, what do you guys think? My brother swears by the relability (if maintenanced regularly) of the Ford 4.6…..
A: If it still pings under heavy load even with 93 octane, you have carbon deposits on the pistons. Those act like glow plugs, causing pre-ignition, also called spark knock and pinging. There are fuel additives that will clean these deposits. If it runs smoothly, forget the compression test and get rid of the carbon. That will stop the pinging.
I used to pour water into the carb slowly, on older models. Water will blast the carbon away instantly, but you have to be very careful when trying that trick……
Q: 2004 Ford F-150 Lariat Making A Ticking Noise?
2004 Ford F-150 Lariat 5.4L 4×4 Crew cab
I went and test drove this truck last night. I noticed when I started it up there was a ticking noise coming from under the hood while it was running. After driving it for about 5-10 minutes we ended up back at the car lot and I brought the noise to the sales guys attention. He told me it was a normal sound for all 5.4L fords. I thought normal sound is smooth and no clicking or knocking noises. This truck is a lot of money and I don’t want to buy it if it is going to break down in 3 months.
Does anyone have an idea of what the sound might be?
A: If the noise is from the engine, do not buy if they are asking a lot of money, My experiance is a car salesman will lie at the drop of a hat for a sale. If its not in the motor but outside of it, make the salesman fix it FIRST, do not sign any papers untill it is fixed.
