Looking for a used work truck not looking to spend to much but will consider any good offers.

A: CHECK ON THE TRUCKTRADER OR CRAIGSLIST.

GOOD LUCK

Q: Do you think it would be good to install a turbocharger or supercharger in a F-150 truck used for offroading?.
2007 model. Also if so which one would be better, supercharger or turbocharger?

A: Hands down I would have to say a supercharger system and the choice is very clear.

A Roots or Twin Screw Type supercharger like a Whipple, Magnacharger, or Roush will offer you the most HP and Torque in the lower RPM range. Not only do these type of supercharger give you instant power in the lower RPM range it continues to produce power throughout the whole RPM band. This means that you will not only have power off the start, but you will see more power all around. So, if you are looking for power right off the start or even for more towing power this is the best way to go. Now off roading this instant power gains will not only provide the power needed to go up hills, esp. in the sanddooms, but it will also provide more power so you do not get stuck in soft spots like sand and mud. They usually have an air-to-water intercooler with the system so this helps control heat.

Now a turbo cannot offer you this amount of power throughout the RPM band. Basically in the lower RPM range your truck is going to feel stock. Then towards the mid RPM range to Redline the power will come on. Since the turbo has this lag, a lot of truck owners rather go with a supercharger. Basically you are getting the same amount ower power output with a supercharger however the power is just coming on so much sooner with the supercharger. So this clearly is highly benefitial.

On top of this, these supercharger sytems come in complete systems. So you can basically bolt it onto your engine without needed to buy extra parts. With the 07 models, the supercharger system will have a built in intercooler, all the fuel accessories and the programming items. This is a huge plus so that you do not have to get your truck custom tuned or anything! You just basically have to bolt it up. On top of all this these systems have a manufacture warranty.

Those are just some quick thoughts I have on this. But, basically to sum it up…the supercharger give you more power throughout the RPM range then a turbo system. And since these systems produce around 6-10psi of boost, you are looking at 40-55% more HP! No other bolt on can provide this amount of power and torque.

Hopefully this will help you out.

Q: Does my stock 2007 F-150 have any GPS type device installed that can be used to track my trucks whereabouts?
In other words, is there anything electronic that came in the in the truck that the government can use against me that could be considered an invasion of privacy?
it didn’t come with a navigation system if that’s what you mean.

A: There is not anyway to for the goverment or ford motor co. to track your truck’s movement.
We can however gather speed and crash related information if there is a check engine light on or a crash sensor activated

Q: What was the last year that Ford used the 4.9 l engines in their E-150 or F-150 trucks?
I might be driving to Alaska at the end of summer and i want an engine that is reliable and really easy to work on

A: 1996 model year for f-150 and also for the E-series vans

both changed to the 4.2 v-6 for 1997 MY

Q: Does my used 2004 Ford F-150 have less power than a older 99 F-150?
I just bought a used 2004 f-150 4×4 with 109,000 miles. I used to own a 99 2×4 f-150 and it rocked, lots of power, fast acceleration when I hit the gas, but this new 2004 I just got doesnt seem to have much power. The acceleration is slow, the torqe almost seems no existent. Can anyone help me out? Is this normal for this 2004 year and model? Or can I do something to fix it? I’m an intermediate mechanic and can fix and replace anything, I just struggle with diagnostics. Thanks everyone for your help!

A: Same engine and trans in both? Same rearend ratio in both? Same cab style? Same wheelbase? Weight will really make a difference. 4×4 is usually slower than 4×2 all other things being equal. Or , it could have just had the crap drove out of it or been poorly maintained and the compression is low (worn out).

Q: Where can i find used rim fro my f-150 truck, in Los Angeles ,ca?
yes i would like to buy some used rims for my truck but I can’t find any good web site that list them! I need 20″ size dose any one know where can i find them???

A: I find http://www.car-part.com helpful for identifying used rims throughout the LA area.

Q: how much is insurance for a used ford F-150 lariat?
for under and over 18.

A: that depends a lot on your record how old the truck is my 07 f150 super crew is about 400 per year full coverage but we pay double that for my daughters crown vic 18 with 2 tickets

Q: Is the motor in a 06 mustang Gt used in any other for vehicles like the F-150?
if so , then is there anything different about it at all? like the computer configuration or transmission?

A: Yes they use a similar 4.6L V8 in the F150, Explorer, Expedition, Crown Victoria. However it is tuned different in each application, for example the Mustang will have a high lift cam and tuned for max acceleration and high end torque but in the F150 it will have a low lift cam and will be tuned for low end torque for towing and hauling. They will be running completely different fuel computer systems in a Mustang vs. a F150

Q: I’m looking at used Ford F-150’s with various miles. If maintained well, how many miles can I expect to get?

A: Depends on the year, how it was used?

Engine trans combo.

And if it was maintained regularly.

I have seen old ford 300 inline 6 cylinders with 1/2 a million miles and I have seen the new plastic bedside trucks in the junkyard with less than 100K on the ticker.

Q: im looking at a used f-150 how many miles is a good amount?

A: 2003 Ford F150 XLT Crew Cab – $5,000

IF that is the truck you are looking at buying, that is a steal!/Deal. The 5.4 v8 is good for over 200,000 miles. we have some onour fleet with 250,000+ on them.

Q: i have a 2002 ford f-150 xl supercab i bought it used from another soldier and i,m having big trouble locating
just dont know where it could be?

A: Did you get the title? How did you purchase a truck, and did not get the vehicle. It sounds suspicious, I think I would have gotten my money back or brought up some kind of charges against him. You don’t just give money to someone, and get nothing in return. Maybe you can look at the place of regiatration, and try to find it there. Otherwise it sounds like you have been had.

Q: i have a ford 2002 f-150 xl i bought it used and i,m having trouble locating the tire changing equipment .?
i,ve got the long bar to let the spare tire down it is mounted on the engine but i can,t find the rest can anybody help?i.e the lug wrench, the jack.

A: Pedro is right… under the passenger seat… under the rear passenger seat or behind the rear seats against the back wall… If you have one locking lug nut … look for a key lug in a heavy plastic bag in the glove box.

Q: How much for used a F-150 Engine?
I have a 1995 ford f-150 with a 5.0L V8 an i blew the engine
today an I was wandering how much will it be around for a new engine?
Also, what engines can I put in my 1995 ford?
Because I head from the red-neck down the road from me I could put a 5.4L V8 in there if thats all I can find.

AN will i have to replace my transmission along with it because it has 200K…i mean I’l probably replace it anyways but how much will that probably run me?

Thank you for your help everyone.

A: New will cost between $4-5k for both, you can get a used engine for $4-5 hundred…

Q: Simple Question – Used Ford F-150 or Toyota Tundra?
Comparing two trucks requiring these options 4WD & Double Cabs, 6′ bed, and I’m looking for atleast the 2007 model.. Which one do you prefer and why?

A: I would say the Tundra, get a lot more truck for the dollar. Ford’s I believe are overpriced for what they are. I am a hardcore GM guy but even the Tundra caught my attention. lets see there 4.7 makes almost 290hp, and the 5.7 puts out around 380hp. Double cab has a lot more room in it comparably to the F-150. Secondly, Toyota is known for its long lasting vehicles. They may sound like crap, but I’ll be damn if you can’t kill them. I have driven the new tundra’s both 4.7 and 5.7 and they are both impressive with power and torque. It might have taken the Japanese a long time to build a full size truck, but they got it right the first time. Also Tundra’s hold a better resale value than most full size trucks. My father owns a 07 Tundra double cab XSP 2wd, 4.7L and it was able to pull my buddies Dodge 2500 without even struggling. At no point did the truck even sound like it was struggling pulling that big old Dodge. But to each there own; Just drive them both and see which one fits you better.

Q: I might be getting my mom’s fiance’s used Ford F-150…?
So I’m 14 and I’ll be getting my license in 2 years. I’ve been starting to save for a car but my mom’s fiance said that maybe I can have his 2005 Ford F-150. He is very very careful with his car but I’m wondering- do any of you think it will still be good? By the time I get it, it will be 7 years old
haha about the not picking best answer thing… i’m not always sure how.. like sometimes it has the buttons to pick one and other times it doesnt..

A: Most cars (ESPICIALLY F150s) are built to last about 15 years or 200,000 miles. It will certainly be good to use. Your main concern shouldnt be how long until it breaks, but how long until a crash occurs. 16-18 yr olds are 50% likely to wind up in a crash the first year, so be careful, and please, NEVER text while driving, always keep a hand on the wheel and your eyes on the road.( Imagine what would happen if that big truck smashed into a tiny little hybrid car.)

Oh, and please pick a best answer, it bugs me when people dont.
